Privacy & Security
How does PDFMaple handle my uploaded files?
Your files are processed only to complete the task you requested. We aim to remove uploaded files from our processing workspace after the job finishes.
Are files encrypted during upload and download?
Yes. Your connection is protected in transit using HTTPS (TLS) when you upload files and download results.
Does PDFMaple read or sell my documents?
No. We do not sell your document content. Files are processed to produce your output and are not used for advertising.
How long do you keep files and results?
We aim to keep files only as long as needed to process your request. If a tool offers a temporary download link, it may remain available for a short period before being removed.
Using the Tools
How do I merge PDF files?
Open the Merge PDF tool, upload multiple PDFs, reorder them if needed, and click merge. Then download the combined file.
How do I split a PDF into pages?
Open the Split PDF tool, upload your PDF, choose the split option (by page range or extract pages), and download the new PDFs.
How do I compress a PDF without ruining quality?
Use the Compress PDF tool and choose the level that matches your goal (smaller size for email/web vs higher quality for printing).
How do I convert PDF to Word (DOCX)?
Open PDF to Word, upload your PDF, and download the DOCX. If the PDF is scanned, results may vary unless the tool supports OCR.
How do I convert Word to PDF?
Open Word to PDF, upload a DOC/DOCX file, and download the generated PDF.
Why does my converted file look different from the original?
Layout differences can happen due to missing fonts, complex layouts, or scanned documents. If you need an exact match, try exporting from the original app or using a tool mode that preserves layout.
PDF Editor & Signing
What can I do with the PDF Editor?
PDF Editor lets you annotate PDFs in your browser—add text, highlights, shapes, drawings, and images—then export the updated PDF.
How do I sign a PDF online?
Open the Sign PDF tool, upload your document, create or upload a signature, place it on the page, and download the signed PDF.
Are electronic signatures legally valid?
In many regions, electronic signatures can be legally valid, but requirements vary by country and document type. If you’re unsure, check local regulations or consult legal counsel.
Protection & Compliance
How do I protect a PDF with a password?
Use the Protect PDF tool, set a strong password, and download the protected file. Store the password safely—without it the file may be inaccessible.
What is PDF/A?
PDF/A is a standardized version of PDF designed for long-term archiving. It embeds required information (like fonts) to improve future readability.
Accounts & Troubleshooting
Do I need an account to use PDFMaple?
Most tools can be used without an account. Creating an account may unlock convenience features like saving settings or accessing your dashboard.
Why is my upload failing or stuck?
Common causes include a slow connection, large files, browser extensions, or network restrictions. Try refreshing the page, using a different browser, or reducing file size.
Why is processing taking a long time?
Large PDFs, image-heavy files, and complex conversions can take longer. If possible, compress the file first or try again during off-peak times.
