Full terms
Effective date: 2026-04-05
1) Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PDFMaple website, tools, user accounts, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2) Who may use the Services
You may use PDFMaple only if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law and your use is not prohibited by law. If you are using PDFMaple on behalf of a company, school, government body, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3) Permitted use
PDFMaple is intended for legitimate document-processing use. You may upload, convert, edit, compare, protect, redact, and otherwise process files only when you have the legal right and practical authorization to do so. You must comply with applicable privacy, copyright, confidentiality, records, and data-protection obligations.
4) Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Process or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, defamatory, or abusive.
- Attempt to access, probe, disable, or interfere with the Services, infrastructure, or security controls.
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to degrade service performance for others.
- Use automated means to scrape, overload, or misuse the Services in a way that exceeds normal legitimate use.
- Bypass access restrictions, payment requirements, or technical limits, if any are introduced later.
5) Your files and responsibility for outputs
You remain responsible for the files you upload, the instructions you provide, and the outputs you download. PDFMaple tools are designed to help with document workflows, but they do not replace your obligation to review the final result before using it for important business, legal, academic, compliance, or customer-facing purposes.
For example, if you redact a file, protect it with a password, convert a PDF to another format, or prepare an archival copy, you should verify the output yourself before relying on it or distributing it further.
6) Accounts and credentials
Some features may require an account. If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activities that occur under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
7) File handling and temporary processing
PDFMaple processes uploaded files in order to provide the requested tool output. Our workflow generally uses short-lived processing workspaces rather than long-term storage. However, you should not rely on PDFMaple as a backup or document repository. Always keep your own copies of important source files and outputs.
8) Intellectual property
PDFMaple and its website content, branding, interface design, and software components are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of PDFMaple intellectual property to you. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Services for their intended purpose.
You retain rights in the files and content you upload, subject to the rights necessary for us and our service providers to process them in order to operate the Services.
9) Service changes, suspension, and termination
We may modify, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We may also suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms, harms the Services, or creates legal or security risk.
10) No warranty
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or suitability for every workflow. Different document structures, fonts, scans, and software environments can affect results.
11) Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDFMaple and its owners, operators, contractors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, or data arising from or related to your use of the Services.
You are responsible for reviewing outputs and maintaining your own document backups, version control, and operational safeguards.
12) Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PDFMaple and its affiliates, personnel, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your files, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13) Third-party services and infrastructure
PDFMaple may rely on third-party hosting, infrastructure, analytics, communications, or other providers to operate the Services. We are not responsible for third-party products or services except as required by law, but we do choose providers to support the operation and security of the platform.
14) Governing law
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for disputes may lie in the appropriate courts in Ontario, Canada, subject to mandatory local consumer law rights where they apply.
15) Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
