Read a document in two passes

First choose up to 12 pages and generate a short overview. Then open the source sections beneath the summary and compare the original wording, numbers and dates. AI summaries are a reading aid, not a replacement for the document.

Working with longer PDFs and scans

Select a smaller page range for long documents. Requests support up to 20 MB and 18,000 extracted characters. Printed English scans use OCR, which can misread small text and tables. Diagram-only pages and handwriting may not produce a useful summary.

Free model, private hosting

PDFMaple runs Qwen2.5 1.5B using llama.cpp on its own server. No paid AI account or outside AI provider is needed. Summaries are generated in English. Five requests per ten minutes and one active summary keep the free service available.
